New Page 1Allow me to share a secret with you. I am not stranger to having extra weight to lose. For me I would always start diets and exercise but never had consistent results. I use to be tired most of the time and never had any energy. I had always heard that healthy eating and exercise was the way to do it. The only problem is that I did not want healthy foods but rather craved the fatty foods that tasted better. In addition, as I just said I had no energy to exercise. Therefore, my exercise was not consistent and when I did it made me even more tired. It was a downward spiral. The foods I should not have are the ones I desired. The exercise I needed to do was not there because of my lack of energy. This is important to realize because many never realize this. It is not that I was lazy or unmotivated. I lacked the energy and the stamina. This formula just allows you to gain weight and be less active.I discovered that healthy eating was the way to go. The question remained how do get started on healthy eating so that it would be a lifestyle change. I discovered that my body has a reset button and that I would have to start with a 5 day cleanse that would reset my metabolism and stabilize my blood sugar. During the 5 days you replace the meals with nutritious shakes and food bars. You can even have healthy snacks like fruit and vegetables. It worked and I felt my energy come back and the cravings for fatty foods disappeared. If we eat high glycemic foods our blood sugar rises to very high levels and our bodies have to produce more insulin to break these down. When we crash from the sugar high our bodies feel a sensation of uncontrollable hunger and we may even feel irritable because we crave more food. The problem with this is that we are constantly eating to curb our appetite for more and more importantly are becoming insulin insensitive when we continue in this unhealthy pattern of eating. That is why there are more and more people with diabetes today than ever before in our history. Adult onset diabetes is even more prevalent today than ever. In fact it has been reported that 33% of all children today will develop diabetes and some point in their lifetime. If they are African-American or Spanish, this number rises up to 50%.

Finally, as you can see if we become insulin insensitive and we do not digest our sugars and carbohydrate properly then it is converted to fat which tends to go to our mid section first and is then deposited in other areas.
When we are on a low glycemic diet, then our blood sugar rises more slowly. We therefore are able to burn this off or control it. Our blood sugar levels return to normal more efficiently and we have a feeling of being satisfied longer. This promotes more healthy eating habits.

What can we do? We can promote healthy eating with a low glycemic diet, and exercise. In addition we should take daily health supplements to add the minerals and antioxidants that we do not take in from our now healthy eating!
